Where do I come from

I am a London born Turkish Cypriot. I have over 15 years of fight experience within the boxing circuit and 4 years as a professional coach. I was a former IBA Champion and I was also the first professional athlete to ever represent the TRNC in a professional event internationally.

Now

 7 years ago I made the decision to live in North Cyprus where I have been  happily married for the last 5 years and have a beautiful daughter of 4 years. When I continued my boxing in the TRNC it was with the goal of opening the door for the younger generations to move forward in the sport. Now, after stepping away from fighting and into a coaching role, I am going to continue striving towards that goal. I established Sugar Boxing Academy in Lefkosa, the only Official BIBA affiliated gym in the TRNC. We produce top quality fighters that will go through amateurs and the pro ranks while representing the TRNC across Europe and the world. 

Where do we want to be …

First and foremost I want to inspire and lead by example. Hard work and dedication will get you where you want to be as long as you are consistent. I make sure that I install this mindset into all my boxers. I want the world to recognise that top class boxers fight out of the small island of North Cyprus. I want the world to know that Sugar Boxing Academy in North Cyprus is the boxing gym they came from and that we are as serious about the sport as any other country. I want the TRNC to get recognition and I want the children of TRNC to know that they can live their dream if they put the hard work in as I am here to guide them and support them.
